Article Pre-teens, teens and even the in-betweens now have some mom-and-dad-free space at the JW Marriott Starr Pass in Tucson, Ariz.
The Blur Teen Lounge is equipped with the latest games, technology, movies and funky furniture, and it offers guests ages 12 to 18 a fun place to kick back and meet other teens during their stay at Starr Pass. Open between 12 p.m. and 6 p.m., the lounge features all the latest technology, including Apple iPads and Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 Move gaming systems that are hooked up to 42-inch HD televisions. The lounge also has a movie area with a 46-inch, LCD HDTV; a library of DVDs; and comfy couches and lounge chairs.
Full access to the lounge and all of its features is available for $25 per teen, per day, and parents may enter only when accompanied by a teen. Every Saturday night from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m., Blur also offers a “Poptail Hour” during which teens can help prepare their own signature soda drink, participate in Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 challenges and catch a movie in the theater area. Poptail Hour costs $65 per teen or $40 for those who already have day use.
Starr Pass is also offering a Family Swing & Fling package available until Dec. 30 that starts at $149 per night, per family. Each family will receive a $50 resort credit; unlimited rounds of golf for up to four people; free meals for kids ages 12 and under; access to pools and waterslides; complimentary use of the Hashani Spa fitness center for mom and dad; shopping discounts; and more.
