The growing business hub of Torreon, Coahuila, will be home to
the first Homewood Suites hotel in Mexico. The international brand,
by Hilton, features upscale, all-suite, residential-style hotels
that cater to both business travelers and tourists alike.
The new five-story property will be located at the growing
Intermall Laguna entertainment complex, a 26,000-square-meter
facility that features a small amusement park, ice rink, IMAX
theater and dozens of retail shops. Torreon, where the complex and
Homewood Suites are located, is one of the most important
industrial areas in the country, populated by more than 1,500
enterprises in 13 industrial sectors. Near the hotel are 19
universities, professional soccer, baseball and basketball teams
and several golf courses.
The new Homewood Suites, a brand launched in 1989, will offer
102 guest suites, including 97 two-room suites, four two-bedroom
suites and one Presidential Suite. It will also feature an exercise
facility, putting green, outdoor pool with sand and Homewood
Suite’s first poolside bar. Additionally, the hotel will continue
the traditional homelike amenities of the chain, such as Suite
Start breakfast, Welcome Home reception, complimentary grocery
shopping and high-speed internet.
With more than 210 hotels open and another 125 in development,
Rebecca Wyatt, senior vice president of brand management said,
“Homewood Suites by Hilton Torreon is another major development
milestone, marking the first of several Homewood Suites properties
planned for Mexico, as well as continuing the brand’s movement
towards international growth.”
