Pretty Packaging

With package rates starting at $250 per couple, per night, guests can enjoy the Market Pavilion Hotel’s Holiday Package. The Charleston, S.C., property’s package includes accommodation, breakfast, in-room poinsettia, a menorah during Hanukah and holiday cookies at turndown. In addition, a private horse-drawn carriage ride for two through the city can be added at an extra cost to see the city’s Christmas Tree of Lights (beginning Dec. 2), Hanukkah Menorah and Kwanzaa Kinari.

The hotel will also feature holiday trees and gift-wrapping elves in the lobby. Charleston Carolers will perform weekdays in the lobby, and children can also participate in gingerbread house-making and afternoon tea with Santa.

The Festival of Lights features more
than 2 million lights.
Lights at the Inn

The Mission Inn, in Riverside, Calif., will celebrate the holidays with a variety of packages. The annual Festival of Lights adorns the hotel with more than 2 million lights in addition to Santa Claus, an ice-skating rink, horse-drawn carriages and more throughout the resort.

The Festival of Lights Package, starting at $325, includes a one-night stay, a chocolate truffle turndown and two gift cards for use at the resort.

The Winter Wonderland Package adds one massage and a Holiday Treatment and starts at $500. Santa’s Little Workshop Package offers two nights’ accommodations, an ornament-decoration session for kids, two Holiday gingerbread baths at Kelly’s Spa, a mini-Christmas tree in the room and more, beginning at $980.

Guests can also opt for Scrooge’s Weekday Special, with one-night accommodation, a resort services gift card and chocolate truffle turndown from Sunday-Thursday, starting at $260.

Fashion and Festivities

Visitors in town to catch the famous Newport Harbor Christmas Boat Parade can take advantage of The Island Hotel’s festive offerings. The Fashionably Yours Holiday Shopping at The Island Hotel combines one-night accommodation with a $50 gift card and VIP Discount Card valid at nearby Fashion Island, as well as transportation to, or valet parking at, Fashion Island. Prices start at $279 and are available through Dec. 30.

The hotel’s All Wrapped Up for the Holidays program, Dec. 1-24, allows guests and locals to leave their cars at The Island Hotel and be chauffeured to and from Fashion Island. Upon return, shoppers can sip a wintry martini, such as the Mistletoe, Reindeer or Frostini. Guests can also partake in a holiday-themed spa treatment, like the Peppermint Reflexology or Holiday Party Facial.

Starwood Privilege is a membership program that includes over 128 participating properties across 33 countries. Members receive discounts and access to special promotions.

A Tahitian Celebration

Opened in Oct. 2002 as a member of Starwood’s Luxury Collection, the 120-room Bora Bora Nui Resort & Spa will celebrate its five-year anniversary this fall with a month-long tribute to the arts.

To mark the anniversary, travel agents can offer guests a fifth night free with daily breakfast through 2007, valid for all new bookings and not combinable with other promotions.

A special calendar of events is being planned for October, with presentations by local and internationally known authors, musicians, photographers and entertainers. Guest activities also include island-themed movies under the stars on the Nui’s white-sand beach, barbecues on the resort’s private style islet and opening- and closing-night galas.
