Luxury in the Riviera

Nov 22, 2008

Although the property has been partially open for a year, Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit officially celebrated its grand debut with the full opening of the resort last month. The property, owned by hotel and real estate hospitality development company The Villa Group, has now completely finished construction and is 100 percent open to the public.

"Now, we have all our magnificent suites open for occupancy and the splendid amenities are fully functioning," said Carlos Aquino, corporate director, The Villa Group.

In addition to celebrating the full opening of the resort, Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta was also awarded the AAA Four-Diamond Award in October.

"The recognition supports what we have known all along," said Joamilka Contreras, general manager of the property. "We are extremely proud of everyone that makes Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta/Riviera Nayarit an incredibly luxurious, but always comfortable, place to be."

Tucked away along the shores of Banderas Bay, Villa La Estancia Nuevo Vallarta is surrounded by lush gardens contributing to an overall feeling of relaxation on the property. A freeform swimming pool, dancing fountains and whirlpool spas add to the atmosphere of tranquility the resort tries to inspire in its guests.

Capitalizing on the resort’s elements of relaxation, visitors may now take full advantage of the intimate Tatewari Spa.

"We are extremely proud of our spa which is praised for being a unique healing sanctuary for the mind, body and spirit," said Aquino.

Designed in European-Mexican style, the 17,000-square-foot-facility features views of magnificent mountain ranges and Banderas Bay. Clients can delight in hydrotherapy centers for both men and women, which include a spacious Jacuzzi, a cold plunge pool, cold-pressure showers, waterfalls, steam rooms, saunas and Swiss showers. Treatments range from ancient mud wraps to men’s facials.

Luxurious Amenities
With an eye on luxury, the 245 suites, ranging in size from 1,200 square feet for a one-bedroom to 3,350 square feet for a three-bedroom, are stylishly decorated with marble floors, granite countertops, a whirlpool tub, a walk-in shower, a walk-in closet and a spacious balcony.

All units feature a complete kitchen with a three-stool breakfast bar, full-size refrigerator, four-burner stovetop with oven, microwave, toaster, blender, coffee maker, dishwasher, garbage disposal, dishes, cookware and utensils.

Other in-suite amenities include individually controlled air conditioning, ceiling fans, LCD televisions with satellite movie service, a direct-dial telephone with voice mail, high-speed Internet access, an electronic safe, a hair dryer, an iron with ironing board, a clock radio, laundry room with full-size washer and dryer, a wet bar on the balcony, daily maid service, turndown service on request and in-room dining.

Guests also have access to amenities like business services, in-suite meal preparation, a pre-arrival shopping service, as well as a hospitality suite for early arrival or late departure.

For morning cappuccino, box lunches, baked goods, snacks, premium beverages, fresh produce, souvenirs and sundries, try the Cyber Cafe and the International Deli. State-of-the-art computers connect to high-speed DSL lines for easy Internet access in the adjacent Internet Cafe, and the Palmita Market is also equipped with everything a well-stocked supermarket offers.

When it comes to dining at the resort, guests have access to La Casona, the only restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta to feature Kobe- and Angus-certified beef. The fine-dining venue offers an air-conditioned dining room and an open-air terrace flanked by a wood-burning fireplace. The menu includes selections of fresh seafood, New Zealand rack of lamb and nightly chef’s specials.

Also on the property, La Parrilla offers casual poolside dining with two swim-up bars and a shaded terrace. The restaurant serves Mexican favorites and wraps, as well as gourmet burgers, sandwiches and salads.

On-Site Diversions
Apart from the spa, clients can soak up the rays around the resort’s two-level, freeform pool surrounded by deck chairs, waterfalls and enhanced with garden islets and a swim-up bar and three, 12-person whirlpool tubs overlooking the beach from the lawn and gardens.

Guests can also enjoy a state-of-the-art fitness center and two championship tennis courts on the property. And, rounding out the resort’s diverse activities roster is access to three different golf courses. Clients can play a round at either the adjacent 18-hole Flamingos Golf Course or Vista Vallarta and Marina Vallarta golf courses in Puerto Vallarta.

Guests can also choose from a variety of watersports offered at the resort, and parents can take advantage of the resorts year-round kids’ club and babysitting services.

Local Highlights
From hiking and golfing to scuba-diving and big-game fishing, Riviera Nayarit, including Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta, is home to some of the world’s finest land and ocean recreation. Some of the most popular excursions include whale watching, horseback riding and daytrips into the nearby Sierra Madre Mountains to visit local towns like Yelapa, Majahuitas, Colomitos and Corbetena. Clients can also take an eco-tour, go four-wheel driving and explore nearly 590 miles of unspoiled beaches, bays and coastline that make the area a favorite for those desiring to explore off-the-beaten-path adventures. They can also explore the nearby El Salado Mangrove Estuary, El Morro, Las Caletas Island, Marietas Island or the Los Arcos Marine Park.

If that isn’t enough, clients can swim with dolphins and sea lions, shop at local markets or explore the Tequila Route through El Arenal, Tequila and Magdelena.

One of the things that both Puerto Vallarta and Nuevo Vallarta are famous for is cuisine. The region is a gastronomical center, and many clients will be interested in adventuring to local eateries offering a range of different cuisine throughout Nuevo Vallarta and Puerto Vallarta.
