Family getaways are all about fun for the kids and ease for
their parents. So when heading to Cabo with the crew, your clients
have several things to consider.
Where can they stay and still enjoy homey conveniences? And what
type of activities are available on site to keep both parents and
the little ones entertained?
More and more families are finding greater appeal in vacation
villas allowing them to maintain a level of privacy and routine
with “at-home” amenities like kitchens and separate bedrooms.
Toss in action-packed kids clubs, family-oriented theme nights
and activities engaging young and old alike, and villas become an
even better fit for multi-generational visitors.
Two Cabo companies in particular continue to finesse the formula
catering to family travel.
The 327-suite Pueblo Bonito Sunset Beach has unveiled the
company’s Little Bonitos club. In addition to the usual childrens’
swimming pool and menus, the club allows parents to sign up their
ninos for activities that include organized pool games, board
games, craft activities and botanical tours.
“The Little Bonitos Club is designed to offer kids and parents
fun activities while vacationing at our properties,” said Enrique
Gandara, corporate director of sales and marketing. “With so many
options, the parents and kids love it.”
Full-day, half-day and hourly options are available.
Within walking distance to downtown Cabo San Lucas, the Villa
Group serves up a trio of beachfront properties brimming with
activities for all ages. At the 458-suite Villa del Palmar, the
“Kids in Paradise” program is open to children ages 4-12 with
participation by the hour, half-day or full-day.
Activities cover mini-golf on Villa del Palmar’s nine-hole
course, tennis lessons, shuffleboard, ping pong, swimming, pinata
making and ceramics painting. Kids can also hang with others their
age at “Club Parties” on Tuesday and Friday nights.
“Villa del Palmar is tailored to families,” noted Ricardo
Orozco, director general for the Villa Group Resorts Cabo San
Lucas. “We’re on the safest, best swimming beach in Cabo San Lucas,
with all ocean recreation available right off our shore. And we
feature an on-site shopping center with grocery store, deli, video
rental and medical clinic. So everything is easy.”
At Villa del Palmar, the fun isn’t reserved just for youngsters.
Teens and adults can whoop it up with pool aerobics, water polo,
water volleyball, beach volleyball, dart tournaments, horseshoes,
mini-golf and bingo. As a bonus, a whale waterslide shoots kids of
all ages into the spacious swimming pool.
Almost every evening, the property’s Las Tortugas creates
theme-night buffets with live entertainment.
“It’s a fun way for families to meet other families and enjoy a
festive evening of dining and entertainment without having to leave
the property,” added Orozco.
When it comes to Cabo, more and more families agree that it’s
“Viva las villas!”
