What Dreams May Come

Dec 06, 2008

When visitors first arrive at Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta in the Riviera Nayarit — one of AMResorts’ numerous new properties scheduled to open this month — a few of its impressive features may catch their eye: two, 10-story towers with a rooftop sushi bar, 229 unique and spacious suites and expansive views of Banderas Bay and the Sierra Madre Mountains. The finest feature of the resort, however, might be its pledged commitment to customer satisfaction through its Unlimited-Luxury concept, a new kind of upscale, all-inclusive product.

"Dreams is always looking to offer guests Unlimited-Luxury experiences in new surroundings, and the Riviera Nayarit is an emerging Mexican destination," said Jan LaPointe, director of marketing and distribution for AMResorts. "Sophisticated travelers often want to be among the first to experience new destinations, and with the Unlimited-Luxury concept, guests can explore new surroundings while enjoying a true upscale vacation experience."

Unlike other all-inclusives, there are no wrist brands or restaurant reservations required to dine and unwind at any of Villamagna’s restaurants and bars, and the resort is working hard to ensure guests will have a quality experience throughout.

"Dreams Villamagna boasts several gourmet restaurants and chic bars, including venues with breathtaking ocean views, delicious grilled specialties, classic Italian dishes, authentic regional cuisine and even a rooftop sushi bar," said LaPointe. "And we offer multiple a la carte dining options and premium liquor brands."

Clients have five bars (serving unlimited, premium beverages) and six restaurants to choose from, ranging from authentic Mexican fare at El Patio to Japanese cuisine at Gohan sushi bar. Gohan, which sits on the rooftop of one of the 10-story towers, has the capability to astonish clients with its secluded feel and both ocean and mountain views.

A true testament to the luxury experience, the suites at Villamagna are decked out with the latest in technological gadgetry (an MP3 docking station, a CD/DVD player, satellite television) and feature amenities, such as 24-hour room service and a complimentary minibar that is refreshed daily. And the suites come with either a furnished patio or a balcony with a Jacuzzi.

At their leisure, clients can leave the privacy of their room and socialize with other guests at the resort’s dual-temperature swimming pool, outdoor Jacuzzi and fitness center.

Clients looking to burn calories or simply stay active have many options in the water and on land, including tennis, kayaking, windsurfing, snorkeling and flying high in the air on a Euro-Bungee trampoline. Other activities, such as championship golf, WaveRunner and Jet Ski riding and sport-fishing are also available nearby the property for an additional cost.

To help parents enjoy some time away from their kids, Dreams Villamagna offers the Explorer’s Club, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily for children ages 3-12. The 1,200-square-foot club is supervised by employees certified in CPR and first-aid and provides arts-and-crafts sessions, video games, a theater for performances, a rock-climbing wall, computers with Internet access and weekly camping adventures on the beach.

Couples who either left the kids at home seeking a romantic getaway or want to say "I do" in an exotic, care-free environment, need not look further.

"Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta allows couples to surround themselves with romance and Unlimited-Luxury, where everything is included," said LaPointe. "The resort also offers luxurious bridal/honeymoon packages when booking a Honeymoon Suite or above for a minimum of seven nights."

Some of the bridal/honeymoon package amenities include champagne, fresh flowers and a fruit basket in room upon arrival; a champagne breakfast in bed the first morning after arrival; a 25-minute couples’ massage; a private beachfront dinner for two; and a romantic candlelit rose-petal bath.

Another amenity not to be missed is a trip to the resort’s spa. The 10,000-square-foot facility combines hydrotherapy and indigenous treatments, and features Swiss showers, saunas, steam rooms and a relaxing garden area. Spa services include massages, body treatments, facials and a beauty salon. Massages can also be arranged on the beach or in the privacy of the guest’s suite.

Wildlife enthusiasts have the opportunity to go whale watching and even help hatch sea turtle eggs at the local conservatory. For just one dollar, guests can name their baby turtle and release it into the wild, with proceeds going to the conservatory.

"In 1993, Dreams Resorts & Spas designed its ‘Dreaming of Freedom’ conservation program to protect this endangered species of turtle while educating resort guests and the surrounding community," said LaPointe. "Resort volunteers aid in the effort by collecting the turtle’s nests for preservation in our Conservation Center … Upon hatching, the tiny turtles are carefully returned to the sand at night, where they instinctively go toward the ocean."

So, it seems, at Dreams Villamagna, even the local sea turtles are treated to top-notch service.

Dream On

A new Riviera Nayarit resort offers savings
By Skye Mayring

Dreams Villamagna Nuevo Vallarta, which opened this month, hopes to attract clients and agents with value-added offers. Through Jan. 31, clients can take advantage of 30 percent off contracted rates for travel that takes place from Jan. 1 through June 27. The bargain continues with a $200 resort credit ($100 going toward a spa treatment, a $60 coupon for a romantic dinner and a $40 credit for a bottle of wine at any restaurant on the property). A minimum four-night stay is required, and the offer is valid for new bookings based on space availability.

Agents can reap the benefits, too: Every three-night booking that agents make at the new Villamagna earns them $50. After a fifth booking, the agent is bumped up to a new bonus commission bracket of $100 per booking.
