Outrigger Hospitality Group has announced the start of a $100 million renovation at the Outrigger Waikiki Beach Resort. The hotel is the brand's flagship beachfront property, offering 524 rooms in the heart of Waikiki on the island of Oahu.
The Outrigger Waikiki will remain open during the overhaul, and “newly reimagined guestrooms are expected to debut in Q3 2026, with the full transformation to follow,” according to an Outrigger statement released today. The resort’s popular Duke’s Waikiki and Hula Grill restaurants, as well as the Blue Note Hawaii performance venue, will remain, according to the Outrigger statement. Improvements are planned for the property’s arrival experience, public spaces and Voyager 47 Club Lounge.
Select shared spaces will also be updated.

“Our role is to steward this iconic resort with care while thoughtfully evolving the experience to meet the expectations of today’s traveler,” said Jeff Wagoner, Outrigger Hospitality Group’s president and CEO, in the statement. “This investment reflects a clear direction for the company — advancing our position in barefoot luxury, grounded in place, culture and connection while continuing to lead the market and inspire lasting guest loyalty.”
Outrigger officials said planning and design for the $100 million transformation was conducted “in close collaboration with local artists, designers and cultural practitioners” and described the project as “a deliberate act of cultural stewardship, with every design choice, material and motif drawn from the land, water and living history of Waikiki.”
Outrigger completed an $80 million renovation at the beachfront Outrigger Reef Waikiki Beach Resort in 2021. The privately held company currently manages 33 properties with more than 5,900 rooms across Hawaii, Fiji, Thailand, the Maldives and Mauritius.
