Cabo Welcomes New Dolphin Adventure Center

Nov 01, 2005

Puerto Vallarta-based Vallarta Adventures and the Yucatan’s Xcaret Eco Theme Park have joined forces to open a new Dolphin Adventure facility in the Cabo San Lucas Marina. The center’s educational programs offer guests once-in-a-lifetime opportunities to interact face to face with Pacific Bottlenose Dolphins.

“This dolphin center will be one of the most beautiful dolphin facilities anywhere,” noted Ricardo Farkas, general director of Vallarta Adventures. “It was designed by world-renowned architect Enrique Norten, and will be a conversion between Xcaret Park in Cancun and Vallarta Adventures.”

He added, “The center also has all of the technological advances for marine life support, making it one of the best worldwide.”

The “Swim With Dolphins” program allows participants to interact with Vallarta Adventures’ family of Pacific Bottlenose dolphins. Non-swimmers can also get into the fun with the “Dolphin Encounter” adventure where they can enter waist-deep water to examine, stroke and even kiss a dolphin.

The ultimate dolphin option, “Trainer for a Day,” lets guests learn about dolphins while working with the facility’s trainers. The company’s newest program, “Dolphin Kids,” was developed especially for smaller children so that they, too, may have contact with these playful and gentle mammals in a safe, fun environment.

Through both the educational and interactive portions of Vallarta Adventures’ Dolphin Adventure, guests gain a deeper understanding of dolphins and enjoy a special closeness with the highly intelligent and amazing creatures.

Vallarta Adventures is a Puerto Vallarta-based excursion company that operates a wide-range of activities - air safaris to remote mountain villages, outback safaris to the heart of the Sierra Madre Mountains, diving with sea lions, humpback whale watching expeditions, luxury sailing charters, and snorkeling and scuba diving.
