Why You Should Stay at a Mexico Grand Hotels Property in Cabo

Cabo San Lucas is well-known for its nightlife. Often star-studded and story inducing, the destination offers everything classic college spring breaks are made of — but don’t rush to judgment. The resort city located on the southern tip of Baja caters to all ages, offering stunning blue seas, water activities such as kayaking and snorkeling, and scenic stretches of solitude. Mexico Grand Hotels sister properties, Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa and Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa, offer the best of both Cabo worlds.

Located 40 minutes from Los Cabos International Airport, Marina Fiesta is in the thick of downtown Cabo San Lucas on the harbor. The resort features 150 suites that are bigger than the average hotel room. All have a full kitchen or kitchenette, and all have a patio or balcony. An impressive 80 percent of the suites also sport a marina view.

The main pool and its swim-up bar are lively throughout the day. Folks seeking a quieter spot to soak up some sun should head to the smaller pool, tucked away on the street-side corner of the property.

The resort’s location makes walking just about anywhere in town easy. Swimmer-friendly Medano beach can be reached in 5 or 10 minutes, depending on whether you traverse city streets or take the scenic route to get there. Guests can access the pedestrian-only marina, loaded with restaurants, shops and popular nightlife options, through a secure gate.

Stays at Marina Fiesta Resort & Spa can be booked room only, or with an all-inclusive Dine Out Meal Plan that covers food and alcohol at on-site La Palapa Restaurant & Bar and a number of resort-owned restaurants and bars along the marina that are also open to the public. Guests can take a complimentary shuttle to the resort’s sister hotel, Hacienda Encantada Resort & Spa (a 10- to 15-minute drive), and dine at one of its five restaurants.

Hacienda Encantada, located on the corridor toward the airport where the scenery is the star, offers an entirely different Cabo San Lucas getaway experience. The adults-only infinity pool that overlooks the beach is the place to be, especially at sunset. Here, it’s more about relaxing than doing.

The 30-acre resort houses 222 suites, 80 percent of which feature ocean views. All accommodations include a patio or balcony; 170 units have a full kitchen or kitchenette. The sheer size of the resort means it takes a little time to learn your way around. If you’re traveling with kids, there’s plenty of space for the little ones to work out their wiggles.

Though even all visiting parents should try and find a moment to steal away to the adults-only infinity pool, the large family-friendly pool in the resort’s activity area is an enjoyable place to spend the day. Along with a kids’ pool, water play area and playground, there’s a ping-pong table and nearby swaying hammocks.

Stays at Hacienda Encantada can also be booked room only, or with the all-inclusive Dine Out Meal Plan.
