Hotel Review: Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa in Los Cabos

May 18, 2022

A main selling point for the resort is that it’s located near one of the area’s only swimmable beaches.

The first thing you rave about when visiting a hotel in Cabo San Lucas is the view. At least, that was the first thing I raved about during my stay at Corazon Cabo Resort & Spa, which opened this year as the newest member of Noble House Hotels & Resorts.

There are many hotels in Los Cabos that offer beautiful views, of course. But none are quite like Corazon Cabo, which sits near Playa Medano, the only major swimmable beach in Cabo San Lucas. The newbuild tower, which has 310 guestrooms and suites, is especially well-positioned to offer inspiring views of the Sea of Cortez and its much-photographed rock formations.

Cabo San Lucas’ Highest Rooftop Bar

I found this to be especially true at Rooftop 360, which is billed as Cabo’s highest rooftop bar. While sipping a colorful cocktail, I took countless photos of the calm waters and the iconic formations in the distance. The setting sun cast a warm glow that made the environment even more irresistible (and Instagrammable), while the sophisticated music selection, which is curated by Noble House, added to the lounge-style vibe and contemporary design that extends throughout much of the property.

Location Near Cabo’s Only Swimmable Beach

Corazon Cabo, indeed, enjoys an enviable location in Cabo San Lucas. In addition to offering great views and direct access to the area’s only swimmable beach, the property is within walking distance of the town’s ever-popular marina, as well as countless dining, drinking and shopping opportunities. It’s an ideal hotel for travelers looking for a stylish, European-plan beach hotel that also offers easy access to off-property experiences.

During my stay, I enjoyed a yachting excursion, which is a requisite for first-time visitors to Los Cabos and a favored activity for repeat visitors, as well. (The hotel staff can arrange boating excursions and other activities.)

Infinity Pools, Beach Club and Oceanside Dining

Still, there are plenty of reasons to stay on the property, whether it’s lazing by one of two infinity pools or relaxing at the beach club, where I spent several blissful hours atop a giant, cushiony lounge chair as attentive waitstaff offered an array of tempting cocktails and snacks. I also felt deliciously self-indulgent as I enjoyed a rejuvenating massage therapy session at Sparitual, the hotel’s well-appointed spa.

Cuisine is another reason to choose Corazon Cabo. On-site dining options include Aleta, a casual venue that sits on the beach and specializes in fresh-caught seafood, and Baja Brewing, a rooftop hotspot that is billed as the only micro-brewery in Cabo San Lucas. Its extensive menu, which includes tasty items like beer pizza crusts made with their own blonde ale, was matched only by the spectacular ocean view, which again resulted in some heavy-duty use of my cellphone camera. Rooftop 360 is another rewarding place to dine, and after dark, it becomes an even hipper place for cocktails, with live DJs adding to the vibe.

The hotel’s attractive interior design is largely thanks to Carlita Alexander, who’s also made her mark at the W Times Square and The Cosmopolitan of Las Vegas, and Sofia Idoate, who’s been praised for her work at The Ritz-Carlton, Mexico City’s signature restaurant, as well as at the Dream Hotel Group condominiums in Atlanta.

I noticed several unique design elements that were particularly eye-catching: the Mexican artwork in the lobby, for example, as well as stylish furnishings and pleasing color palates throughout the property. I also appreciated the look of my accommodations in the Corazon Tower, the newly built hotel tower where all rooms offer sea views and floor-to-ceiling glass sliding doors. Even the smallest room category, the Infinity Suite, measures a spacious 368 square feet, and has a furnished terrace or balcony, minifridge and free Wi-Fi access.

Travelers looking to indulge should consider the two-bedroom, three-bathroom Corazon Suite, which measures nearly 1,243 square feet; or the three-bedroom, three-bathroom Sunset Suite, which measures more than 1,447 square feet.

Corazon Cabo already has a lot to offer, and there is more to come. A new Mediterranean restaurant, a new ballroom and multiple meeting spaces are all slated to open this year.
