ASTA’s board of directors unanimously approved a plan to
develop a new business model that creates two membership categories
for the association. The categories, according to ASTA officials,
are currently being referred to as “premium” and “select.”
Premium members would receive “concierge-level” services
currently not available, ASTA officials explained, while Select
members would interact with the association, most often
electronically, and pay for select services on an a la carte
basis.
“The model was determined to be the best for the future of
ASTA,” said Kathryn Sudeikis, ASTA’s president and CEO.
Once a business plan is created, it will be presented to the
board for a vote in June and to the membership for a
referendum.
If the plan is approved, it could be put in place within two
years.
