Aloha Airlines announced it will start daily nonstops between Las
Vegas and Honolulu and between Sacramento and Maui, starting Sept.
7. Aloha began serving Las Vegas and Sacramento as extensions, or
tags, to other nonstops.
“Operating tag-city flights from Oakland, Orange County and
Burbank has enabled Aloha to enter and test the strength of new
markets,” said Glenn R. Zander, Aloha’s president and CEO. “In the
case of Las Vegas and Sacramento, the markets have grown steadily
to the point where they are now strong enough to support
full-service nonstops to Hawaii.”
After Sept. 6, Aloha will eliminate service to Phoenix and the
nonstop between Burbank and Maui.
