Effective Sept. 15, travel agents who are not accredited by ARC or
IATA will be required to have identification numbers to access
American Airlines’ inventory in a global distribution system,
according to ASTANet.
While this does not apply to ARC/IATA accredited booking agents,
it may apply to some outside contractors and remote access
users.
Acceptable identification codes include:
" NACTA’s Travelsellers
" ARC’s Reservation Service Provider (RSP)
" OSSN’s TRUE
" IATAN’s Travel Service Intermediary (TSI)
" IATA’s Travel Industry Designator Service (TIDS).
Identification numbers must be sent to American via e-mail at
[email protected] and include: the booking source name, address,
identification number, GDS provider, Pseudo City Code (PCC), and
home and/or branch ARC/IATA number of all accredited ticketing
agency affiliations.
Booking agents must notify each GDS they use that they have
obtained unique identification numbers, and the numbers must be
included in each booking created through each GDS. See the keyword

Continental Airlines initiated a similar policy on Nov. 13,
2000, with Northwest following suit on March 31, 2001.
