Brendan Focuses on FIT Market

Tour operator Brendan is investing heavily in its custom independent vacation (FIT) concentration, identifying it as one of the company’s key strategic markets for the future. Brendan has also expanded its FIT offerings in such regions as Europe, the South Pacific, Asia, South America, Central America and Ireland to provide more hotel, sightseeing and transfer options.

As part of the company’s new focus, Brendan has developed a new online FIT booking engine, iNavigate, which allows agents to quote and/or book a reservation in real time, using live inventory. Agents who continue to book through Brendan’s call center are also able to use iNavigate in order to review client’s reservations online, as well as read descriptions of sightseeing tours and hotel accommodations and receive payment schedule information for commissions.

Brendan president Gary Murphy said of the new tool, “It has only taken us 40 years, but we truly have a tool that makes Brendan a better partner for the retail travel agent. Our goal is to offer superb service while maximizing the efficiency of the booking process. To compete in today’s market, you need the ability to close a sale with one phone call or via the Web.
