The California Hotel & Lodging Association (CH&LA) elected its 2013 Board of Directors. Allan Farwell of the Hyatt Regency Indian Wells Resort & Spa was voted the new chair.
“This coming year, we’ll be focused on leading our concerted efforts to make it easier to thrive in the hospitality business in California,” said Farwell. “I hope that following this year, the industry will feel more connected to our issues, our people and our future.”
Additional elected officers include Bimal Patel, CHA, Concept Hotels as vice chair; Terri Haack, Terranea Resort as secretary/treasurer; and Rick Anderson, Casa Tropicana Inn as past chair. Marcy Tanner of Disney will be joining the Board of Directors for 2013. Lynn Mohrfeld, CAE is the president and CEO of CH&LA.
Board members who have renewed expired terms include Wes Tyler of Chancellor Hotel, Candace Savage of USA Today, Pat Seminario of the Ventura Marriott, Peggy Mosley of Groveland Hotel, Luis Barrios of Best Western Old Town and Steve Robbins of San Pedro Waterfront. Pam Richardson and Tony Bruno have become advisors emeritus to the Board of Directors.
