Cruise Lines International Association (CLIA) announced that Howard S. Frank, vice chairman of the board and chief operating officer of Carnival Corporation, has been named chairman of the association’s board of directors. Frank has served on the committee for a number of years and, in a normal rotation of responsibilities, succeeds Gregg Michel of Crystal Cruises, who has served as chairman since 2008.
“I know I speak for CLIA’s staff and all the association’s cruise line members in saying that we greatly appreciate Howard Frank’s willingness to serve as chairman of CLIA’s board of directors,” said Terry Dale, CLIA’s president and CEO. “Over the years, his input has been invaluable and we look forward to his leadership as the cruise industry moves forward to address tomorrow’s challenges.”
