The U.S. State Department has lifted its Travel Alert for Egypt, meaning that travel agents have the opportunity to reconnect with clients who have expressed interest in Nile cruises from Cairo to Aswan. Cruise ships have been unable to sail between Cairo and Luxor for 15 years; however, this river route has now been reopened by the Egyptian Ministry of Tourism and offers access to an unprecedented array of Egypt’s ancient wonders.
Several Nile cruise operators have launched Cairo to Aswan river cruises, with cruises ranging between seven and 10 nights. www.egypt.travel.com; http://travel.state.gov
