Three months ahead of schedule and $17.5 million under budget, the
newly expanded Reno-Sparks Convention Center was unveiled earlier
this month.
Construction of the renovated center took only 14 months after
the official groundbreaking, according to the Reno-Sparks
Convention and Visitors Authority.
The $105 million expansion includes more than 500,000 square
feet of rentable space within a “modern, high-tech convention and
trade show facility,” according to the RSCVA.
Bob Brown, RSCVA vice president of sales and marketing, said the
center is now capable of hosting national and regional shows and
staging multiple groups simultaneously.
Brown added that the RSCVA plans to bring more than 300 meeting
planners to Reno in March in three familiarization trips.
