Hilton’s global headquarters is moving to Washington, DC.

Last month, Hilton Hotels Corporation announced that it intends to relocate its global headquarters from Beverly Hills, Calif., to the Washington, DC, metropolitan area. The company is currently considering locations in both Maryland and Virginia and is planning the move for the third quarter of 2009.
According to Hilton, the relocation plans are part of an ongoing business reorganization that comes on the heels of a rigorous review of its corporate operations and locations.
"After careful consideration of both the needs of our business and the impact on our organization, we identified the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan area as the best market for our business and the right decision for our future," said Christopher J. Nassetta, president and CEO of Hilton Hotels Corporation.
Nassetta added that Hilton appreciates the support it has received from its civic partners and citizens in the Beverly Hills community and also acknowledged the company’s long history in the area.
