Spinetta Recognized With Tourism Award
Jean-Cyril Spinetta, chairman and CEO of Air-France-KLM, was
awarded the first World Tourism Forum for Peace Award at
Counterpart International’s 40th Anniversary Benefit reception.
Jacques Pichot, secretary general of Air France, officially
accepted the World Sustainable Tourism Award on behalf of Spinetta,
which was presented by Counterpart’s president and CEO, Lele
LeLaulu and masters of ceremonies Alexandra and Phillippe
Cousteau.
“The World Sustainable Tourism Award was initiated after the
December 2004 Summit on Sustainable Tourism as a vehicle to
acknowledge the contributions of organizations committed to making
the world a better place,” added Lelaulu.
Cumberbatch Gets New Post
Almond Resorts International has appointed Wm. Monty Cumberbatch
to the position of regional director of operations. He is now
responsible for overseeing all Almond Beach Resort properties.
Cumberbatch has 30 years’ experience managing various departments
in the hotel industry. Before starting with Almond Resorts in 1991,
he was general manager of the Rockley Resort and Beach Club.

New Managers at AOCVB
Chris Nuccio and Jennifer Adams joined the tourism department of
the Anaheim/Orange County Convention and Visitors Bureau
(AOCVB).
Nuccio joins the tourism department as manager of tourism
development. She will handle the Australian and New Zealand
markets, in addition to several domestic markets. Her
responsibilities will include organizing fam tours, coordinating
sales calls and developing new tourism business.

Adams comes to the AOCVB from the Beverly Hills Conference &
Visitors Bureau where she held the position of marketing manager.
She joins the AOCVB’s tourism department as marketing manager and
her new responsibilities include managing convention and consumer
marketing programs, as well as being involved in market research
and data management.

Wischemeyer Joins A&K
Linda Wischemeyer joins luxury travel company Abercrombie &
Kent as vice president of a new Private Jet division.
With more than 35 years of industry experience, Wischemeyer
comes to A&K from her most recent position as president of
Starquest Expeditions.
