TravelAge West Trendsetter Jason Coleman, who has held the position of president of SoCal ASTA for the past two years and who was recently named to ASTA’s board of directors, has announced that he is running for president of the organization.
Coleman made the announcement on Aug. 13 and said that he believes that ASTA needs a clear vision and direction.
“There is an urgency for [travel agents] to address our challenges in a bold way, and I will provide the leadership the board needs as we take decisive action to move ASTA forward,” said Coleman. “I am running for ASTA president because I believe that we need changes that result in more transparency, more communication and more involvement and openness among the board and our members.”
If elected, Coleman would be focused on the future of the organization and the travel industry.
“I will bring to the table courage, creativity and persistence to reinvent and modernize ASTA for future generations of travel professionals,” he said.
Election results will be announced on Sept. 9 at ASTA’s board of director’s meeting, which will take place during ASTA-LA at the Los Angeles Convention Center.
