New Family River Cruise for 2010

Tauck’s family-oriented division, Tauck Bridges, will offer a family-specific river cruise for 2010 that travels along the Danube River in Europe on July 1 and 29. Tauck’s decision to include a family river cruise was due to overwhelming positive demand and strong sales from its inaugural family river cruise that took place in 2009.

The Blue Danube: Family Riverboat Adventure cruise spans eight days, traveling from Budapest, Hungary, to Bratislava, Slovakia; Vienna, Durnstein and Linz, Austria; and on to Passau and Regensburg, Germany; with a full-day excursion to Salzburg, Austria. The cruise will not only cater to families onboard but will also offer family-friendly activities and excursions that include a scavenger hunt and whitewater rafting in Bratislava, a hands-on strudel-making class, a visit to Hellbrunn Castle near Salzburg and a marzipan-sculpting class.

“We build each Bridges trip around shared enrichment in which family members reconnect by building bonds — or bridges — as they experience the joys of travel together,” said Dan Mahar, Tauck CEO. “Parents today want to stimulate their children’s curiosity and sense of wonder about the world, and they want to spend quality time together as a family. Bridges trips provide true enriching engagement within each destination, with the added benefit of having Tauck handle all the planning and execution of the vacation. Parents are free to totally relax and really get the most from the time with their children.”
