New General Manager at the Meritage Restaurant at the Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa

As general manager, Seyt Laver will work in tandem with executive chef Josh Thomsen and will be responsible for the oversight of daily operations of the Meritage Restaurant at the Claremont Hotel, Club & Spa, including its world-class wine program. Laver brings more than 10 years of experience to his new position, having served as the assistant general manager of Scala’s Bistro, one of San Francisco’s most acclaimed restaurants. Laver also passed the Court of Master Sommeliers Introductory Sommelier Course, gaining a detailed knowledge of wines and spirits from professional sommeliers.

“I’ve admired the Claremont for many years as an icon of the East Bay,” says Laver. “With Meritage’s fresh and inspired atmosphere paired with the history of the Claremont, I knew it was a perfect fit for me. My goal every day is to win the hearts of the Meritage team and to ensure an excellent guest experience, whether they are enjoying breakfast, dinner or a light bite at the bar.”
