Amazing Race
If one of your clients’ favorite shows is CBS’ “Amazing Race,” you might want to tell them about a new adventure being offered by Pan Pacific Vancouver and Pan Pacific Whistler Village Centre in British Columbia. Their two-night Amazing Race package, designed for groups of eight or more, includes deluxe accommodations and daily breakfast at both properties. Like the hit reality TV show, teams of two make their way from one location to the next, but not without encountering numerous challenges, roadblocks and detours along the way. This amazing race takes guests along the Sea to Sky highway from Vancouver to Whistler, where they cross the finish line at a top-secret location and later celebrate with complimentary dinner at the hotel’s Pacific Lounge.

Winning Souvenirs
Ever wonder if you made the right decision to buy that knick-knack while you waited at the airport? Sakura shops in Japan’s Narita International Airport have taken all the guesswork out of finding the perfect souvenir. There, you can purchase the best in Japanese souvenirs, as determined by overseas tourists in a March 2005 Japan Souvenir Contest.

The contest jointly hosted by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Visit Japan campaign awarded manufacturers with gold, silver and bronze medals in the following categories: food, confectionery and traditional crafts. Gold medal winners included: Sencha Miyako-no-Tatsumi Japanese green tea sets, Kasutela sponge cakes and Nioibukuro-Tagasore Kaoru incense bags.

Another Sakura shop is scheduled to open in Kansai Airport in the near future.
