A majority of travel agents charge fees for researching
itineraries, according to a new poll by PositiveSpace.com.
In a June survey, 74% of travel agents said they charge research
fees - not ticket or service fees - to clients, and 26% said they
did not.
Asked how they figured the charge, 52% said they charged a flat
fee, 7% charged an hourly fee and 2% charged a percentage of the
trip value. Fifteen percent of respondents had other methods of
charging the fee, while 24% charged no fee.
