The Grand Hyatt Atlanta’s Ruth Benjamin was selected as the recipient of the Hyatt Hotels Corporation’s prestigious General Manager of the Year Award. Fourteen general managers were nominated out of Hyatt’s 132 North American full-service hotels.
Benjamin rose through the ranks at Hyatt’s Grand Cypress Resort and then the Hyatt Regency Newport Beach, first as an assistant restaurant manager and then as director of the food and beverage division. She has been with Hyatt Hotels and Resorts for 22 years and was the seventh woman to hold the general manager position in the company. Currently serving as the general manager for the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead, Ga., she is one of the 11 full-service female general managers employed with Hyatt today.
“It is truly an honor to win this prestigious award. I am privileged to work with such an amazing staff here at Grand Hyatt Atlanta,” said Benjamin.
