South African Tourism North America hosted its first-ever mega-fam at this year’s Indaba travel trade show. The fam trip immersed 100 travel industry professionals in the unique culture and experiences of South Africa, empowering them to better sell the destination.
“Our market invests heavily in building key relationships with our stakeholders — we view this mega-fam as a game-changing initiative to fuel double digit growth to our destination,” said Sthu Zungu, South African Tourism North America country manager. The most effective way of educating the trade on our destination, is to give them first-hand experience.”
Participants were invited to “find their big 5” travel experiences in the country, beginning with the trade show in Durban and venturing beyond the conference to discover South Africa’s culture, history, wildlife and people. The mega-fam is part of the new “What’s Your Big 5” campaign from South Africa Tourism North America.
