Independence Air will launch nonstop service from its Washington
(Dulles) hub to San Diego on April 14, and Los Angeles, San
Francisco, San Jose and Seattle on May 1, hoping the new West Coast
service on its A319 aircraft will provide a boost to the troubled
airline.
As Independence envisions it, the West Coast flights will
attract more passengers to its regional jet flights between
Washington and smaller cities in the East, who will connect in
Washington for the West Coast services.
