Elvis was in the building, dancing and singing with more than 180 travel agents and suppliers at the celebratory final dinner of the second-annual ExecConnect Elite Agent Symposium hosted by TravelAge West at Melia Cabo Real in Los Cabos, Mexico, from May 17-20. The King impersonator was a special guest of the Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority (LVCVA), which also participated in educational workshops, one-on-one agent supplier meetings and more. During the dinner, Art Jimenez, senior director of leisure sales for LVCVA, shared what’s new in Las Vegas, including videos for the “Know the Code” ad campaign, a fun and social media-savvy update on the well-known motto “What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas.”
ExecConnect featured six unique workshops, elite supplier presentations, one-on-one supplier meetings, a social media bootcamp and three general sessions which focused on this year’s theme — technology. At the general sessions, agents learned about different database programs that manage client information as well how to leverage social media to their advantage. A highlight of the event was guest speaker Matthew Bailey of SiteLogic whose session provided agents with relevant facts as well as strategies for growing an online presence and following.
