Last week, the U.S. Department of State reissued its worldwide
advisory cautioning U.S. citizens of the continuing threat of
terrorist actions.
The advisory was initially issued in April, but was reissued
last week amid reports that the Department of Homeland Security is
warning of possible terrorist airline hijackings.
The advisory said that tensions from recent events in Iraq may
increase the potential threat to U.S. citizens and interests abroad
from terrorist and other groups, and said that terrorist actions
may include suicide operations, hijackings, bombings or
kidnappings, and may also involve commercial aircraft.
