The La Cumbre Travel Industry Summit, which took place in early September at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, Calif., had a positive response with nearly 215 exhibitors and approximately 175 buyers in attendance. Over the course of three days, attendees met in 30 pre-scheduled business meetings and attended the La Cumbre Conference Program.
At the end of the event, La Cumbre announced that Las Vegas will be the host city for the 2011 edition of the industry summit, which will take place from Sept. 7-9, 2011, at The Venetian Las Vegas Hotel Casino. During the closing luncheon, Rafael Villanueva, director of international sales, Las Vegas Convention and Visitors Authority, gave a speech about the opportunities in Vegas and Blue Man Group, resident performers at The Venetian, made a brief appearance.
