Viking River Cruises’ CEO, Torstein Hagen, confirmed that the company is placing an additional two-ship order with Fincantieri for its Viking Oceans brand, with an option for fifth and sixth vessels. The order is contingent on the completion of financing on the Italian side, Hagen said, and these will be sisterships to the two 944-passenger seagoing ships already on order, scheduled to debut in 2014 and 2015. The first two will be deployed on the Mediterranean and Northern Europe.
