Virgin Guarantees Best Price, Launches V Australia

Mar 14, 2009

Mickey Mouse and Goofy greeted Virgin Group
Mickey Mouse and Goofy greeted Virgin Group CEO Sir Richard Branson (center), Virgin Blue CEO Brett Godfrey (center, kneeling), Australian celebrities Marcia Hines (right of Mickey Mouse) and Catriona Rowntree (left of Branson) and the staff of V Australia at Los Angeles International Airport.

It’s been a busy time for Virgin Group. Last month, the company celebrated its inaugural V Australia nonstop flight from Sydney to Los Angeles and this month, its Virgin Charter airline announced a groundbreaking, best-price guarantee for travel agents.

The brand-new V Australia, which had its official launch on Feb. 27, is the first airline to compete on the trans-Pacific route between the U.S. and Australia thanks to a recent open skies agreement signed by the two countries. The airline currently offers three flights weekly between Sydney and Los Angeles; by March 20, V Australia plans to offer daily flights between the two cities. Now, with the addition of V Australia, Virgin Group has the ability to fly passengers worldwide.

Virgin Charter, the company’s private jet charter service, is also promising to find the best price for clients’ private jet charter flights. If Virgin Charter fails to find the lowest price, it will pay the agent $1,000 for all trip requests submitted by April 15.
