Virtuoso has announced the appointment of Scott Ahlsmith, CTC, as
vice president of global network solutions. With more than 30 years
of experience, Ahlsmith will lead the effort to deliver technology
solutions for member agencies, including the creation of the next
generation of Virtuoso.net, the network’s proprietary intranet
site.
“Scott Ahlsmith is an extremely well respected leader within the
industry, and we are very pleased to have him join the Virtuoso
team,” said David Hansen, executive vice president of operations
and finance for Virtuoso. Ahlsmith began his career owning and
operating a retail travel agency and has since become widely
regarded as an expert on travel technology and distribution. During
his career, he has served as vice president and general manager of
TRAMS, and was the founder, president and CEO of Magellan Travel
Technologies, Inc.
Winter Moves Up at Outrigger
Outrigger has announced the promotion of Steve Winter to the
position of vice president, operations for Outrigger Condominium
Collection. Winter joined Outrigger in 2001 as general manager and
director of condominium operations for Maui. Before being promoted
to his new position, he held the position of regional director of
operations Oahu and general manager for Outrigger Luana Waikiki.
Winter will now oversee all operations and management of
Outrigger’s Condominium Collection resorts and vacation ownership
properties throughout Hawaii. He will provide leadership, vision
and management to ensure financial strength and operating
efficiency of the condominium/timeshare division.
Chang Returns to ResortQuest
Shari Chang, who previously worked for ResortQuest (then known as
Aston Hotels & Resorts), has rejoined the company as senior
vice president of sales, marketing and revenue management.
“Shari possesses the unique skills, background, experience and
leadership for a position that impacts nearly every aspect of the
organization,” said Kelvin Bloom, president of ResortQuest
Hawaii.
Chang most recently served as vice president of marketing and
communications for Aloha United Way. She has also worked for Castle
Hotel and Resorts, Aloha Airlines and Island Holidays.
