AmaWaterways has launched its new 161-passenger AmaVerde for service in Europe. The newbuild is on charter to the Australian market, as is its sistership, AmaBella, which debuted last year. North Americans have not yet experienced the ships’ new twin balcony stateroom design, with both a French balcony for unimpeded views and a full-size balcony that enables passengers to step outside and experience the river from the privacy of their staterooms.
The books are open for the North American market from October through December this year on 14-night Magnificent Europe itineraries from Amsterdam to Budapest. The 164-passenger AmaCerto will join the fleet next year, designated entirely for the North American market. As a new generation ship, it features twin balconies, a heated swimming pool and multiple dining venues.
The AmaVerde’s staterooms and suites range from 170 to 350 square feet. All have amenities including flat-panel televisions providing complimentary Internet access and first-run Hollywood movies, plush terrycloth robes and marble-appointed bathrooms with multi-jet showerheads. Complimentary bottled water is provided daily in all staterooms, and room service is available for breakfast and dinner in the junior suites.
Onboard dining is directed by culinary experts who are members of the Chaine des Rotisseurs, the world’s oldest gastronomic society. Options include four restaurants: the main dining room, Bella Cucina, the Wine Room and the intimate Erlebnis Chef’s Table restaurant with a chef’s tasting menu. Additional dining options include an early riser’s breakfast, light lunches and late-night snacks in the Main Lounge.
Public areas onboard the AmaVerde include the main lounge and bar, where guests can enjoy piano music and scheduled nightly entertainment. There is also a relaxing fireside library; an Observation Lounge; a 24-hour specialty coffee and tea station; a fitness center and sauna; and a hair and beauty salon. Passengers with laptops, iPads or smartphones will enjoy complimentary Wi-Fi throughout the vessel.
