Avalon Offers Incentives With Monograms in 2010

Jul 08, 2009

Globus Family of Brands’ Avalon Waterways and Monograms segments have put together nearly 15 seven- to 10-day pre- and post-cruise packages in London; Paris; Nice, France; Amsterdam, The Netherlands; Vienna, Austria; Prague, Czech Republic; Munich, Germany; Zurich, Interlaken and Lucerne, Switzerland; and Berlin.

Patrick Clark, managing director of Avalon Waterways, recommended Monograms’ A Week in Paris vacation as a pre-cruise getaway for Avalon Waterways’ Burgundy & Provence itinerary. Clark also suggested clients look into pairing a seven-day Vienna & Prague vacation package from Monograms with Avalon’s A Taste of the Danube itinerary, post-cruise.

Clark recommended clients consider a seven-day Paris & Nice package priced from $1,599, that works well pre-cruise with Avalon’s Burgundy & Provence. Another seven-day package combining Amsterdam, Paris and London, priced from $1,389, makes a great post-cruise tour for the following Avalon itineraries: Romantic Rhine; European Splendor Magnificent Europe; Windmills, Vineyards & Paris; or a North Sea-Black Sea Cruise. Monograms’ 10-day Vienna, Munich & Berlin tour, priced from $2,429, makes an ideal extension for Avalon’s A Taste of the Danube.

“Monograms is independent travel made simple and a perfect choice for first-time travelers to a destination,” said Steve Born, vice president of marketing for Globus Family of Brands. “We pair travelers with local hosts in European cities to provide guided sightseeing. We also ensure travelers are staying in hotels located in the heart of each city for easy access to sites. “

Avalon is also offering early booking incentives for 2010 — $150 off per person on any Egypt, China, Galapagos or Taste of the Danube cruise/land-only vacation or $300 off per person when booking air on the same itineraries. For most Avalon European cruise vacations, the benefit increases to $250 off per person select Europe river cruise/land-only vacations or $500 off per person when booking air on the same itineraries.

“By combining Monograms getaways with Avalon cruises for travelers looking for an in-depth and diverse European travel experience, agents can substantially boost both their commissions and revenue with very little effort,” said Clark. “With 80 years of experience and an award-winning reservations team, we take care of the independent travel and cruise details so agents can focus on building their business.”
