Bookings are now open for European Waterways’ 2011 season onboard its fleet of 21 luxury hotel barges, each carrying anywhere from four to 20 guests on the canals, rivers and other waterways of France, Italy, Scotland, England, Ireland, Holland, Germany, Belgium and Luxembourg. As the only cruise company offering barge cruises in Scotland, the Venetian lagoon and River Po Valley, as well as the first company to offer a six-week Avignon-to-Amsterdam cruise which encompasses a 1,000-miles-long journey along Western Europe’s inland waterways.
The line’s new brochure highlights the addition of the six-passenger Fleur de Lys and the eight-passenger Amaryllis, both of which will cruise the Lower Burgundy region. La Bella Vita, another recent addition to the fleet, will celebrate its first season with European Waterways in 2011. A newly refitted 20-passenger vessel, La Bella Vita will cruise between Venice and the Renaissance city of Mantua via the Venetian Lagoon, River Po and the Bianco Canal.
Bookings are now being accepted for cruises on these and all European Waterways’ other hotel barges, and offer a minimum of 10 percent commission to travel agents.
Each six-night, all-inclusive cruise includes all meals, selected regional wines, open bar, daily escorted excursions, local transfers and the use of all barge amenities such as bicycles and spa pools. European Waterways also offers a wide range of themed cruises, focusing on activities such as golf, walking and wine appreciation.
Crews include a captain, chef, tour guide and hostess, ensuring personal attention and a very high level of service.
