The faded sign for the Inn at the Dalles came down in July, and in its place rose something fresh and modern: the Celilo Inn, located in the Columbia River Gorge area.
“For years I’ve looked up at that sign and always thought that if someone put some work into it, it could be an amazing location,” said Jana Cickova of The Gorge Hotels Group. “Just look at the view from up there. To the east, the sun rises over the rolling hills and basalt rocks overlooking the river. To the west there’s Mt. Hood overlooking the Hood River Valley. Finally, this year we decided to stop thinking of what could be and created what should have been."
Following $1.5 million in renovations, the Celilo Inn bills itself as eastern Oregon’s only modern boutique hotel experience. It features 46 one- and two-bedroom suites, each with a view of the Columbia River Gorge.
The Celilo Inn is close to such outdoor activities as hiking, biking, camping, fishing, skiing, snowboarding, rafting,and windsurfing as well as many historic sites, wineries and day trips.
Room rates, which currently range from $130-$210 per night, include a light breakfast of Stumptown Coffee and fresh baked goods from local bakery.
