On May 22, Clement Chen III, president of Pacific Hotel Management, opened the InterContinental Clement Monterey. The newly constructed luxury hotel, found at 750 Cannery Row, marks the first new hotel construction on the Monterey coast in more than 20 years.
The 208-room InterContinental hotel, which is located near the famous Monterey Bay Aquarium, is expected to be the last major construction in the neighborhood due to zoning restrictions enacted in the 1980s. The hotel offers impressive views of the bay and more than 15,000 square-feet of indoor and outdoor meeting and event space.
The hotel, which will be managed by an affiliate of Pacific Hotel Management, also offers a number of luxury amenities, such as C Restaurant and Bar under the direction of executive chef Jerry Regester; health, wellness and fitness programs provided by the Monterey-based Energia Body Centre; and full-service spa, pool and childcare services.
