This winter, young Montana visitors and locals can take part in the Kids’N’Snow Program, featuring events and activities one weekend per month during the winter season. Programs are offered by strategic learning partners such as the Grizzly & Wolf Discovery Center, Yellowstone Park, the Forest Service and others for outdoor activities including ice skating, cross-country skiing and snowshoeing. Events will be headquartered at the West Yellowstone Visitor Center.
Each weekend will feature regular programming, plus a S’mores & More activity and a special community event. On Dec. 15-16, enjoy sled-dog races, a cross-country ski race, free use of ice skates, free s’mores and sledding. From Jan. 19-20, guests can see a free movie about Yellowstone at the IMAX theater or hear talks by the Yellowstone Rangers. The weekend of Feb. 2-3, the program will host a Saturday morning Ice Fishing Clinic, where participating children receive their own rod and tackle from HT Enterprises. The final weekend, March 2-3, will include a full schedule of activities with the annual Youth Ski Festival taking place on Sunday.
