For travelers in the Pacific Northwest, BoltBus recently launched a route between Seattle and Portland with fares as low as $1.
The direct bus route is a curbside service, picking up passengers in downtown Seattle at Fifth Ave. South and King St., and at 647 S.W. Salmon St. in downtown Portland, with multiple departure times each day.
The buses offer comfortable leather seats, extra leg room, free Wi-Fi and power outlets. The BoltBus also offers direct service between Seattle and Vancouver, B.C., an affordable option for travelers wishing to explore further in the region.
Meanwhile, two airlines recently launched direct flights into Portland International Airport from major east and west coast hubs. Virgin America began two daily nonstop flights from both Los Angeles International Airport and San Francisco International Airport. Spirit Airlines has started daily nonstop service from Dallas/Fort Worth and, on Nov. 8, 2012, it will launch a daily direct flight from San Diego.
Also, in August 2012, Alaska Airlines became the first carrier to offer daily nonstop service between Portland and Washington, D.C.’s Ronald Reagan National Airport.
