The Ouray Chamber Resort Association invites guests to visit Ouray for the third annual Grillin’ and Chillin’ Brew Fest and the 10th Annual Terramar/Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon. Both events will be held in “Switzerland of America” on Aug. 28.
The festivities begin at 7:30 a.m. with the Terramar/Mt. Sneffels Half Marathon between Ouray and Ridgway, benefitting the Mt. Sneffels Education Foundation. The 13.1-mile course starts at the Ouray Hot Springs Park, winds through the city of Ouray, along the Uncompahgre River Valley, and ends at the Ridgway Soccer Fields. A shuttle is available to take participants from the Ridgway Soccer Fields back to the starting line in Ouray.
The entry fee is $35 and includes snacks at the finish line and an official race T-shirt. Proceeds directly benefit the Mt. Sneffels Education Foundation, a non- profit organization dedicated to enriching the lives and educational experiences of the youth in Ouray County.
Kids are invited to participate in the one-mile fun run/walk at 11 a.m. The $10 entry fee also includes a T-shirt and snacks. The fun run/walk begins at the Ridgway Soccer Fields.
At noon the focus shifts to BBQ and relaxation at the 3rd Annual Grillin’ and Chilin’ Brew Fest in Fellin Park. Western slope brewers will serve up suds while brats and burgers sizzle on the grill. Bavarian pretzels and root beer floats are also on the menu. Local bands will offer musical entertainment. The price is $20 for the beer glass or $5 for non-drinkers.
