Residents and guests near Coeur d'Alene, Idaho, should be wary of Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings during the month of October, when the Silverwood Themepark transforms, once again, into Scarywood Haunted Nights.
The brand-new Mind Warp maze promises scary surprises in its misty, shadowy corners as well as only one way out - through the Vortex. Once again the Terror Canyon raft ride will be drained and transformed into the Terror Canyon Trail, complete with fear-inducing creatures, and with this year's addition of the Freak Farm. Fearless zombie hunters will be happy to know that the Zombiewood Express, a steam engine turned zombie hunting machine, is back to conquer a brand-new cast of the evil undead. Also returning is The Blood Bayou, promising frightful new twists, and the Timber Terror Roller Coaster, which travels backwards exclusively during Scarywood nights.
The event is not recommended for children under 12, and guests are prohibited from wearing costumes.
Buying tickets in advance is recommended, as tickets are limited and, when purchased online, guests receive a $5 discount. Gate prices are $24.99 for Thursdays, $29.99 for Fridays and $34.99 for Saturdays. Full-price tickets purchased at the gate receive a coupon for free admission to Silverwood Theme Park in May 2012.
Groups of 15 to 40 people can receive a discount of up to $7 per person, and groups of 40 or more can receive discounts of up to $9 per person. To receive discounts, groups must book 48 hours or more in advance by calling 208-683-3400 ext. 3 or emailing [email protected].
