Summer events at Sun Valley Pavilion |
Music fans have plenty of exciting events to look forward to this summer in Sun Valley, Idaho. The architecturally impressive Sun Valley Pavilion only opened last year and is already attracting a variety of musicians from myriad genres. Some of the events for the upcoming months include a a High Octane Fiddle-fest Barrage on July 17. For those who prefer to move with — as opposed to just listen to — good music, the Trey McIntyre Dance Project will run from Aug. 28–29. In addition, the Sun Valley Center for the Arts Summer Concert Series is known for showcasing a series of internationally recognized artists and this year is no exception. The 2009 series will feature appearances by Alex Cuba, a non-traditional Cuban artist; Salsa Celtica, a Scottish group that fuses salsa music with traditional Scottish sounds; and Donavon Frankenreiter & Mishka, reggae specialists.
In light of the Fourth of July, festivities in Ketchum will kick off at 8 p.m. on July 3 with a performance by Tony Furtado, a musician who blends rock music with Americana, folk and pop, at the Clarion Inn in Ketchum. Tickets are available for purchase at Ketchum Dry Goods, located on Sun Valley Road in Ketchum, and are $10 per person.
There will also be a children’s carnival and live music on the 4th Street Heritage Corridor and in the Ketchum Town Plaza on the Fourth of July.
