Vail Mountain has announced a new premium lesson product, Ski Girls Rock, inspired and designed by Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn. The program, exclusively for girls ages 5 to 15, was inspired by Vonn’s experiences as a young skier and her female role models on and off the slopes.
“I’ve always firmly believed that sports build teamwork skills, self-confidence, and really develop a sense of empowerment,” said Vonn. “Ski Girls Rock is a great way for me to inspire other girls to realize their potential through a talented group of Vail ski instructors who share the same passion I do.”
Ski Girls Rock lessons will be for no more than four students per group, led by female instructors who will focus both on ski skills and empowering girls through the sport, teamwork and social skills. Instructors recently met with Vonn to understand her vision so that they can convey it to the students.
Each participant will receive a complimentary Under Armour Ski Girls Rock hat, and four lucky girls will be randomly selected to return to Vail in the spring of 2012 for a ski lesson with Vonn herself. The program is offered Dec. 26 - Jan. 1, Feb. 18-24 and March 11-24 for prices starting at $260 for the day’s lesson.
