The Hong Kong Tourism Board (HKTB) recently held its annual Tourism Update event, a virtual gathering of some 2,700 trade representatives, travel agencies, attractions, hotels, airlines, cruise lines and other travel sectors to share details of its tourism recovery plans.
The event included a look at upcoming HKTB promotions, as well as two industry forums, one of which explored how different sectors are preparing for the resumption of international travel.
“The global economy has started to rebound, with Asia predicted to recover sooner and the Mainland expected to outperform other markets in economic growth,” said Dane Cheng, executive director of HKTB, during the event. “As cross-border travel gradually resumes, the HKTB will launch the Open House Hong Kong platform [featuring exclusive experiences and citywide offers for travelers] to conduct large-scale promotions in our source markets.”
