Leaders in destination management gathered in Toronto for Destinations International’s 2022 Annual Convention, held July 19-21.
During the event, a total of 1,339 registered attendees from 20 countries participated in 28 educational sessions and other programming featuring CEOs, destination members and additional tourism industry partners.
As part of the convention, the association — which supports official destination organizations and convention and visitors bureaus — hosted its first Awards Recognition Celebration to highlight travel industry leaders. It also made several announcements, including the launch of a new Mentorship Program (to help foster relationships between members) and its Equity, Diversity and Inclusion Assessment Tool, which will help destination organizations create intentional goals and track progress in the workplace and the community.
