Location and History

Situated at State Street, one block from Grant Park, this is the oldest hotel in Chicago, and it claims (as do a dozen others) to be the longest continuously running hotel in North America.

The Palmer House also claims that it was the largest hotel in the world in the 1920s, when a 25-story tower was added. No matter the superlatives, this remains a grand old dame with lots of history.
