Location and History

Opened in 1994 as San Jose's first big luxury hotel, the boxy five-story InterContinental Hotel is right beside one of the main mega-highways west of the city center, in San Jose's fashionable suburb of Escazu and across from the American-style high-end Multiplex Shopping Mall. A crosswalk over the highway helps guests reach the mall, which has interesting shops and a fantastic food court. The hotel also offers a shuttle to take guests to the mall.
