Location and History

On the northern edge of the "respectable" part of The Strip, on a spot formerly occupied by the legendary Desert Inn, this sexy, curved, copper-clad high-rise is, by some accounts, developer Steve Wynn's best, a tribute to luxury in the land of excess.

Given Mr. Wynn's track record (Mirage, Treasure Island and Bellagio), the standards should come as no surprise. But his trendier offering, Encore, has created something of a sibling rivalry between the two....
